History and tradition

The Evaldo Hotel was built on the remains of an old mill, which was owned by Mr. Vito Lezuo, born into a local family in 1914. After finishing school, Mr. Vito used to work in various hotels in the area during the summer months, and in winter time he earned his bread as a skiing instructor. Throughout the course of the first 50 years, he had the opportunity to open a small guesthouse in Arabba. During these years the guesthouse developed considerably. He therefore decided to extend and restructure an old mill that he had inheritated from his father. Thanks to his professional know-how and the valuable help of his wife Maria, in 1957 the Evaldo guest house was opened.

Soon the guesthouse developed into the holiday destination of numerous guests and Mr. Vito had to continuously extend and restructure it in order to meet the increasing requirements of local tourism. An important role in the guesthouse was assumed by the owner's son Evaldo, who worked actively in his parents business, whenever school allowed it. Through his marriage with Stefania, another offspring of the Lezuo family was born. Michael went to the Technical Institute of Tourism in Gorizia and afterwards to the “Berufsfachschule” of Altoetting in Germany. In autumn 2001 the hotel has been extended to 10 rooms and a wonderful wellness area with swimming pool. The hotel Evaldo is still directed by mister Evaldo, his wife and his son Michael.
